JOHN BUIST was employed as surgeon on the Rolla in 1802 - 03. The Rolla departed Cork on 4th November 1802 and arrived in Port Jackson on 12 May 1803.

Service in the Royal Navy

Appointed assistant surgeon in the Royal Navy on 11 December 1806
Appointed to the Resolute on 13 December 1812.
One of several assistant surgeon supernumeraries to the Severn in January 1819. [3]

John Buist was employed as assistant surgeon at the Royal Naval Hospital at Greenwich in 1837[1]


He died at Greenwich Hospital in May 1837[2]
