Lieutenant Sampson Marshall arrived in Australia with his wife and six children on the David Scott in 1834.  Joseph Docker was Surgeon Superintendent on the David Scott

Sampson Marshall purchased 640 acres and 703 acres of land at Jerry's Plains in December 1834.  One of these purchases is located centre left on the map below next to that of James Robertson.

His second daughter Amelia married Robert Adamson Rodd in 1840 and youngest daughter Emma Grace married William Harper (jun) at Maitland in 1847
