Thomas Prosser was appointed Assistant Surgeon to the Curacoa in 1809.
He was promoted to Surgeon in 1815 . He was entered in the Navy List of Medical Officers in 1815 
He was employed as surgeon superintendent on the convict ship Maria in 1818. The Maria departed 15th May 1818 and arrived in Port Jackson on 17th September 1818.
He was intending to return to England on the Glory in November 1818
