Convict Ship Surgeon-Superintendent

Thomas Prosser was appointed Assistant Surgeon to the Curacoa in 1809.[1]

He was promoted to Surgeon in 1815 [2]. He was entered in the Navy List of Medical Officers in 1815 [3]

Surgeon Superintendent

He was employed as surgeon superintendent on the convict ship Maria in 1818. The Maria departed 15th May 1818 and arrived in Port Jackson on 17th September 1818.

Thomas Prosser R.N., was employed as Surgeon Superintendent on the Maria in 1818[4]
He was intending to return to England on the Glory in November 1818 [5]

The Court for Relief of Insolvent Debtors - The Matters of the Petitions and Schedules of the prisoners hereinafter named: At the adjourned General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be holden at the Guildhall, Cardiff, in and for the County of Glamorgan on the 29th day of October 1831:
Thomas Prosser, formerly of Swansea, Glamorganshire, since of London in Middlesex, since of Portsmouth, Hants, then of Jamaica, in the West Indies, afterwards of Bristol, Somersetshire, then of Lougher, Glamorganshire, since of Neath Glamorganshire, afterwards of Nantyglo, Monmouthshire, and late of Merthyr-Tidvil, Glamorganshire, Surgeon in the Royal Navy.
